NCEES celebrated its tenth year offering the Engineering Education Award. The award recognizes college engineering programs for engaging their students in collaborative projects with licensed professional engineers. It was established to promote the understanding of the value of licensure and to encourage partnerships between the engineering profession and education. The UNC/NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering received the $25,000 grand prize. Seven additional programs received $10,000 awards.
NCEES celebrated its third year offering the Surveying Education Award. The award recognizes surveying and geomatics programs that best reflect the NCEES mission to advance licensure for surveyors in order to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of the public. The University of Akron Surveying and Mapping program received the $25,000 grand prize. Three additional programs received $15,000 awards, and three received $10,000 awards to assist with their continued efforts to promote the importance and value of licensure.
